Privacy policy
How WaveBets collects, uses and protects your data. Short version: we keep the minimum, sell nothing, and every email has an unsubscribe link.
What we collect
Browsing WaveBets needs no account. If you register, we store your email address, a hashed password (never the password itself), your plan tier, the leagues, teams and analysts you follow, your BetAI conversation history and any picks you log. Like every web service, our servers also record standard request data: IP address, browser type, pages visited and timestamps.
Cookies and consent
We use cookies to keep you signed in (httpOnly session tokens) and to remember your consent choice. The consent banner loads before any tracking script, and analytics tags only run after you accept. If you decline, GA4, the Meta pixel and ProveSource stay off.
Analytics and advertising
With consent, we use Google Analytics 4 and the Meta pixel to understand which pages people use and to measure our own marketing. The site also carries third-party advertising, currently Adsterra, which may set its own cookies and measure ad performance under its own policies. ProveSource may show social-proof notifications. Declining consent in the banner keeps the analytics tags off; the ad units are served by our advertising partner and governed by their terms.
Payments
Paid plans are billed by Stripe. Your card details go straight to Stripe and never touch our servers; we only see your plan status, billing period and a customer reference.
We send account email (verification, password resets) and, for Pro and Edge members, the daily VIP card through Amazon SES. Every marketing or tips email carries a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can opt out from your account settings. We do not email you for anything else.
What we never do
We do not sell your personal data, rent it or share it for someone else's marketing. Data goes to a service provider only when they need it to run WaveBets: Stripe for payments, Amazon for hosting and email, and the analytics and advertising partners named above where consent applies.
Retention and deletion
Your account data stays while your account is open. You can delete your account from the settings page; that removes your profile, follows and preferences. BetAI conversations with anonymous visitors are held for a short period then discarded. Records needed for billing, tax or the integrity of our public prediction record may be retained where the law requires it.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, correct it, or delete your account at any time. Unsubscribe links cover email; the consent banner covers tracking. If you are in the EU or UK you additionally have GDPR rights including objection, restriction and complaint to your local authority.
Security
Passwords are hashed, sessions use signed httpOnly cookies, traffic is encrypted in transit and access to production systems is restricted to the people who run the service. No system is perfect, but we treat your data the way we treat ours.
